Why Harvest Rainwater?
What the gardener's know-
- Rainwater is a plant's water of choice.
- Salt free rainwater will reduce the salt in the root zone and increase the draught resistance of the plants.
What the engineer's know-
- The harvesting and appropriate use of rainwater will reduce the demand on the mains water supply or supplement well water.
- When mains water is metered, the consumer's consumption of metered water will be reduced, saving billed water cost.
- Holding water on site for later consumption reduces flooding and erosion.
- Harvesting rainwater reduces the consumption of precious groundwater.
- In hard water areas rainwater may be superior to mains water. Harvested water is available during hosepipe bans.
CAUTION- Harvested rainwater may need treatment if it is to be used as drinking water. Use it appropriately.
A MirrorSEAL roof and cistern liner will avoid contaminating clean water.
