Mirrorseal is easy and clean to work with. No special equipment is
required and there will be no obnoxious odours.
You don't need to remove the old roof just clean up the area to be patched. Vacuum or brush off any loose material and remove any standing water (damp is ok but the dryer the better). Fill any cracks, depressions or holes with MUCKY PUCK to make a level surface. Be generous with the area because the fault in the roof may not be over the leak.
Apply MirrorSeal penetrating base MirrorFab and Top Coat according to the instructions. Plan to repair the whole roof when you have the opportunity. If it is the flashing that has failed you can take the MirrorSeal right over the flashing and onto the roof.
Things to be careful about- MirrorSeal is a water-based product; once a skin is formed on the surface it will be impervious to rain and will continue to cure for some time but do not try to apply MirrorSeal or Mucky Puck in the rain. Tents and heaters (not necessarily together) may be used with care to accelerate the drying process. Make sure there is plenty of ventilation.
MirrorSeal should not be exposed to freezing before it is cured.
High wind may lift the MirrorFab until it has started to cure.
